Project Alpha aims to seek out and empower high-potential budding startups in Southeast Asia who have dreams of becoming the next breakout story. Project Alpha strives to be the catalyst supercharging the growth of the best early-stage startups by helping to defray operational costs, whilst providing mentorship and potential funding.
2018 sees the launch of Project Alpha in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok and Singapore. Together with acclaimed entrepreneurs and local heroes, we will be hosting events in each of these 4 countries to inspire and target the next generation of founders. Submit your application below and SeedPlus and AWS will pick five startups from the submissions to receive:
If you are interested in learning more and to meet SeedPlus and AWS – please be sure to register for the event in the city your startup is located. Seats at the event will be limited so be sure to register early. Don’t worry though – you can still submit your startup into Project Alpha even if you can’t make the event.
Submission for Kuala Lumpur-based startups closed on 19 July.
Submission for Jakarta-based startups closed on 23 August.
Submission for Bangkok-based startups closed on 20 September.
The final stop for Project Alpha in 2018 was in Singapore, where AWS hosted Gillian Tee, CEO of rising star Homage, K1 Suzuki, Head of Technology at Grab Ventures, and Agung Nugroho, Co-Founder and COO of Kudo (now part of Grab).
Submission for Singapore-based startups closed on 16 October.
Post application, at least five startups will be shortlisted as finalists and recognised as one of the best early stage start-ups in ASEAN. These start-ups will be assigned two primary mentors for three months – one each from AWS and SeedPlus – and be given access to business and technical experts from AWS and SeedPlus.
All finalists will be on-boarded to AWS and given a USD 25,000 Activate portfolio package. AWS will also provide mentorship on best practices for web architecture, security and advanced AWS service usage for AI/ML, analytics and IoT.
A dedicated SeedPlus partner will work with the finalists on issues ranging from strategy and business development to product and recruitment, and support the shortlisted founders in building sustainable businesses. SeedPlus will also consider investing seed funding at the conclusion of the process.
We'll inform you of new event announcements, deadlines approaching and when finalists are unveiled.
